Revisiting Fabbrica's Success in Bergen

Following the triumph of Fabbrica Rotterdam in 2005, Tjep. was commissioned to create a second Fabbrica in the coastal artist village of Bergen, Netherlands. This iteration revisits beloved elements like the intimate train cabins, reimagined with a fresh aesthetic that emphasizes romance and relaxation—evoking the joy of dining on a moving train while gazing at scenic landscapes.

Train Cabins for Intimate Dining

Diners ascend small ladders into elevated wooden booths modeled after railway carriages, lining one wall of the dining room. These cozy pods feature suspended tabletops and elegant chandeliers, creating a sense of travel and movement while offering privacy and whimsy for romantic meals or family gatherings.

Eye-Catching Pizza Oven and Industrial Touches

At the heart of the space stands a large pizza oven adorned with vibrant Bisazza tile mosaics, serving as an absolute eye-catcher. Nearby, criss-crossing wooden shelves store fuel for the oven, integrated with electrical clusters mounted on bold red squares, blending functionality with industrial charm.

Embracing Earthly Authenticity

Departing from the glossy shine of its Rotterdam predecessor, Fabbrica Bergen adopts a more grounded approach: exposed materials replace painted surfaces, aligning with the era's economic context. "It's not time for Bling Bling anymore, people want more authenticity and less entertainment," explains Frank Tjepkema, prioritizing raw, honest design that resonates with the coastal village's artistic spirit.

A Factory of Culinary Delight

Echoing Tjep.'s innovative ethos, Fabbrica Bergen transforms industrial elements into a lively pizzeria where authenticity meets imagination. Discover this enchanting space on Tjep.com, where everyday dining becomes a poetic journey.
