Pause... record... fast forward and eject... backwards... pause... play...
Art installation for the 160 meter long tunnel in the east of Amsterdam known as the the Kruislaan Tunnel. This tunnel is very monotonous and unpleasant for the cyclists and pedestrians alike. We chose the universally known symbols from audio devices such as the iPod one might be carrying while passing through the tunnel, and applied them as large light objects. By placing them in this strange context the symbols may invite to be attributed new meaning by the visitor, while creating light accents in the tunnel, and points of recognition that break the monotony.
