As it is the latest fashion to avoid at all costs being fashionable, who, better than us, could have fulfilled in a satisfactory fashion the challenge of creating a distinction that is fashionably unfashionable as well as delightfully out of fashion in a fashionable way?
We where commissioned to design a distinction for Fashion Fugitives, the fashion label initiated by G+N. Fashion fugitives are the opposite of fashion victims. Designing some sort of reward for not being a fashion victim was a subtle mind game!
Indeed, by rewarding the non fashion victim with something visible like a medal, you automatically create a fashion statement and thus... fashion victims. Therefore, we searched for something very common, something nobody usually shows off with, to endeavour transforming it into something very unique.
The world being full of them, we ruled out numerous ordinary items, to select the most banal and undistinguished of all, one that turns you into a number: the waiting ticket from the local butcher! Which we made out of gold.
Fashion Fugitives recognized by G+N will be rewarded with this very unique ordinary golden number.
